PCR plates are designed for high-throughput screening (HTS) and automated workflows. They combine the ultra-thin walls of PCR strips with the standardized SBS format required for robotic stations and modern qPCR cyclers.

Compatibility and Skirting

  • Non-Skirted: Flexible and suitable for manual low-throughput work.
  • Semi-Skirted: Increased rigidity, the most common format for standard cyclers.
  • Full-Skirted: Essential for robotic arms and automated handling systems.

FrameStar® Technology

FrameStar® plates from Azenta feature a two-component design: a rigid polycarbonate frame (stability) and PP wells (heat transfer). They prevent thermal warping at 95 °C, ensuring a perfect seal during heat sealing. For qPCR, white plates are recommended to maximize signal reflection.
