Assay plates are optimized for optical measurements in plate readers. They are primarily made from polystyrene (PS) due to its excellent optical clarity.
Color Selection by Application
- Clear: For colorimetry (absorbance), ELISA assays, and OD600 measurements.
- White: For luminescence (CLIA) and luciferase assays – maximizes signal reflection to the detector.
- Black: For fluorescence – absorbs excitation light and prevents crosstalk between wells.
Most models feature a flat bottom for a uniform optical path. For live-cell assays, choose TC-Treated surfaces from the cell culture plates category.
